Hello there! We’re Guided Goat Hikes, and we’re here to add a dash of fun to your adventure!

We’re mainly a pack goat organization that specializes in using our amazing Alpine goats for packing! But we also have a soft spot for our charming Nigerian Dwarfs.

Our goats take part in engaging activities such as guided hikes, yoga sessions, and fun events. These experiences not only bring joy to our guests but also help socialize the goats, making them friendly, playful companions. If we can’t find the right match for a goat, they remain with us, continuing to spread positivity and joy at our events.

Join us for a memorable experience & help support our mission of finding loving homes for these charming animals!

Where we’re located

Guided Goat Hikes is a unique and heartwarming business located on a picturesque 10-acre ranchette in Conifer, Colorado.

Who’s the owner

Tara, a former lawyer, has dedicated her life to helping animals. Over the years, she has welcomed various pets, including parrots, goats, dogs, cats, horses, turkeys, chickens, reptiles, and MORE! Tara sees herself as a genuine animal lover who is passionate about ensuring every animal finds its forever home!

Goat Yoga

Wethers (fixed male goats) might not be seen as valuable in the goat world since they can’t produce milk, but Tara absolutely adores her boys and would take them all if she could! She focuses on bringing in adorable male babies for fun activities like baby goat yoga and events. Once they’ve developed their personalities and become super friendly through socialization, she finds them loving homes. Then, she brings in a new batch of male babies who are wanting some extra love and attention. It’s a continuous cycle of care, fun, and finding the perfect matches for these adorable goats!

Hikes

Tara loves hiking with her large-breed Alpine wethers, who are highly sought after in the pack goat community thanks to their impressive stature! Their size makes them fantastic companions on the trails, adding a fun twist to every adventure!

Everything else!

Our goats partake in a variety of engaging activities, including guided hikes, yoga sessions, summer camps, parties, and other fun activities. These adventures not only serve as a source of enjoyment for our guests and goats, but also help socialize the goats, allowing them to become friendly and playful companions.

What if a goat is unhappy?

If a goat isn’t happy in our program, we either keep them as a cherished pet or allow them to be rehomed through our usual process. Just like people, not all goats are the same! It’s essential to ensure that we’re providing the right kind of stimulation for each goat’s unique needs. Happy goats make for happy adventures!

What if a goat gets sick?

Every year, we run blood tests on all 30+ goats to keep an eye on their health. Each of our animals gets their recommended vaccinations too, CD&T and INFORCE 3 (BRSV). If any of them fall ill, we make sure they get the best care at Aspen Creek Animal Hospital. We invest a significant amount of money to ensure our animals stay happy and healthy!
